The Music That Burns Interviews Sterling Infinity
Three bottles of red wine, a platter of nail-polish and four dozen pairs of high heel boots are lined up waiting for her/him, but still there is no sign of Sterling Infinity. We’ve been warned. He doesn’t appear in daylight.
As the next rock/pop/electro superstar, a model, artistic muse and artwork in itself, Sterling Infinity is a one-off. Photographers and artists love working with the #MentaHybrid. David Schoners – all nude, fierce mannequin - and human-bedroom orgy – is one of his last great portraits.
At 8.08pm the doors burst open. His skin is extraordinary. Soft, shiny and muscly. His mussed blond locks and the rounded width of his cheekbones bring to mind a young Prince, Grace Jones Hybrid. At 20 something years old, he is six-foot-one, and wears a women’s size 11 shoe, which he says is hard to find in couture but is sometimes carried at DSW. He’s looking at himself in the mirror. His face is as fearsome as it is beautiful, especially fully made up. Did he consciously create an image to go with the face? “No. I think my character comes from authority within my earthly creation. They had that first, and subliminally I took that on.”
